Sell Side:
1. After the very first showing, we received a reasonable offer on our current house. After some negotiation, we agreed on a price, and things moved forward.
2. The inspection happened yesterday, and revealed nothing too major (and no real surprises). We have not heard back from the buyers yet, but do not expect to have to concede too much (if anything).
Buy Side:
1. The house we were going to buy had several major issues revealed during the inspection. After some haggling with the sellers, and a growing loss of confidence in the house, we actually pulled the plug on the whole thing and decided to keep looking. We have had no regrets.
2. On Monday we saw a house we really liked a lot. We put an offer on it, but there were multiple offers and we got outbid (which means it went for above asking price!). Too bad, but at least it was quick. I thought this was a buyer's market...
3. We saw 3 more houses on Wednesday. Two were duds, but the third was a winner. The house itself is one of the nicest we've seen and would need nothing up front. It has quite a small yard, but it's a nice yard, and it's very near a large park and right across the street from a (brand new) elementary school where we could use the playground after hours and in the summer. We put an offer on it this morning, so we'll see what happens there.

Prayers for you!
I kind of wish we had a house that didn't need a lot of work, but I suppose that would have been outside our price range. At least, it was outside what we wanted to pay. What the banks were offering us seemed quite outrageous to us.
